A World Health Organization official, Richard Peeperkorn, stated on Friday that they had received estimates suggesting that over 1,000 unidentified bodies remain buried under the rubble in Gaza.

These unidentified casualties have not yet been included in the official death toll figures.

Gaza health authorities have reported that more than 7,000 people have lost their lives due to Israeli bombardments, which were carried out in response to deadly cross-border attacks by Hamas gunmen on October 7.
