It has been nearly a year since the tragic murder of Sidhu Moose Wala, the beloved Punjabi singer, and fugitive gangster Goldy Brar has finally shed light on why he committed such a heinous act. In an exclusive interview with India Today, Brar disclosed the motivations behind his actions.

The unfortunate incident occurred on June 29, 2022, when Moose Wala was fatally shot in his SUV near his village of Moosa in Punjab’s Mansa district.

Just a day later, Brar openly admitted on Facebook that he had orchestrated the murder as a means of avenging the killing of another fellow gangster. Subsequently, the police officially named Brar as the mastermind behind this tragic event.

Now, going by the alias Satinderjeet Singh, Brar, a significant member of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has come forward to assert that their gang’s actions were justified and devoid of any hidden agenda. It is clear that they firmly believe they did what needed to be done and stand by their actions without reservation.

In an interview with India Today, Goldy Brar, the fugitive gangster, reiterated his stance on the murder of popular Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, stating that there was no need to hide their actions and that they believed they had done nothing illegal.

Brar confidently admitted to their involvement, emphasizing the collective nature of their actions within their brotherhood.

Brar initially cited the murder of Youth Akali Dal leader Vicky Middukhera as the motive for killing Moose Wala, seeking revenge for his death.

Echoing his earlier claims, Brar asserted that Moose Wala, an egoistic individual who misused his political and financial influence, needed to be “taught a lesson.”

According to Brar, Moose Wala’s personal actions had caused them harm and committed unforgivable mistakes, leading to the decision to punish him.

Frustrated by the alleged close ties between a wealthy individual, influential police officers, and a lack of justice from the government, Brar explained their motivation to seek justice on their own terms.

Brar, reportedly in his late 20s, left India for Canada on a student visa in 2017. Operating from abroad, he orchestrated Moose Wala’s murder, while the accomplices involved were apprehended within India.

Despite his associates’ capture, Brar remains abroad, with a red corner notice issued against him for arrest and detention as a fugitive.

In December of the previous year, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann claimed that Brar had been detained in the US. However, a purported interview with Brar surfaced online on December 5, where he refuted the claims and stated that he was neither held nor present in the United States.
