In a disturbing incident last week, members of Thackeray Sena’s delegation resorted to violence by slapping and thrashing a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officer. The altercation occurred after the BMC took action against an illegal Shiv Sena shakha (branch) in Bandra.
While the BMC proceeded with the demolition of the unauthorized Sena branch, Shiv Sainiks simultaneously attempted to remove hoardings featuring the photo of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray.
Amidst the impending demolition of the Shiv Sena party’s branch, tension escalated as a bulldozer was brought in to raze the structure.
In an attempt to salvage the situation, Shiv Sainiks requested permission from officials to remove the photos of Bal Thackeray displayed within the branch. However, they alleged that their request was denied.
In response, Anil Parab, the leader of the delegation, organized a protest march at the municipal office in Santacruz today. As part of their efforts, the delegation arrived at the BMC office to engage with officials and voice their grievances.
Unfortunately, the situation took a violent turn when members of the delegation physically assaulted a municipal officer, reflecting the escalating tensions surrounding the incident.
