Tragic End at Najafgarh Station: Man’s Fatal Leap in Front of Delhi Metro Train
A police inquiry was underway into the tragic incident that claimed the life of 31-year-old Manish Kumar, a librarian from Devprayag, Uttarakhand, who resided in Prem Nagar area of Delhi’s Najafgarh.

On Monday, a tragic incident unfolded at Delhi Metro’s Najafgarh station when a 31-year-old librarian, identified as Manish Kumar from Prem Nagar, Najafgarh, allegedly jumped in front of a moving train.
The police were alerted at 9:26 am regarding the distressing incident. Manish Kumar lost his life on the spot. CCTV footage was examined, and his family members also arrived at the scene. Hailing from Devprayag in Uttarakhand, Manish was a married man with one daughter.
Authorities initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC, and further investigations were ongoing.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) confirmed that services resumed to normalcy within 15 to 20 minutes after the incident. The tragic loss of the young librarian has left the community in shock and grief.
