Shubman Gill, after an exceptional campaign in IPL 2023 where he amassed 851 runs in 16 matches, expressed his belief that winning the Orange Cap is a remarkable achievement. However, the talented 23-year-old cricketer still feels that there is unfinished business ahead.

During this season, Gill showcased his finest batting performances in the IPL so far, maintaining an incredible average of 60.79. His outstanding form included three centuries in the last four games, with a breathtaking knock of 129 off just 60 balls, propelling GT to victory against MI and securing their place in the IPL 2023 final.

With his remarkable run-scoring abilities, Gill is poised to claim the coveted Orange Cap for this season. The closest contenders, CSK’s Devon Conway with 625 runs and Ruturaj Gaikwad with 564 runs, will be playing in the final, but Gill has created a significant lead over them.

Despite his impressive accomplishments, Shubman Gill remains focused on the task ahead, determined to accomplish more and lead his team to further success.

Shubman Gill, in an interview with News 18, expressed his feelings about winning the Orange Cap and his perspective on the job not being done yet. The 23-year-old cricketer acknowledged that winning the prestigious award was a great achievement, but he admitted that he always has a lingering sense that there is more work to be done.

Gill explained that every time he performs well, the following morning he wakes up with a feeling that there are still goals to be accomplished. He highlighted the busy cricket schedule ahead, mentioning the upcoming World Test Championship, Asia Cup, and the impending World Cup, which always keeps him looking forward and thinking that the job is far from finished.

While acknowledging the success he has experienced in the IPL and throughout the year, Gill expressed his gratitude to the universe for the opportunities and happiness he has found. He emphasized that it has been a fantastic year for him personally, but his mindset remains focused on the future and the next challenge.
