With an illustrious career spanning over 30 years, she joined Doordarshan in 1971 and became a familiar face in households across the nation.

Throughout her remarkable journey, Gitanjali Aiyar received recognition for her exceptional talent, earning the prestigious title of best anchor person four times.

In 1989, she was honored with the Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award for Outstanding Women, acknowledging her remarkable contributions and achievements.

Alongside her broadcasting career, Gitanjali Aiyar also served as the Head of Major Donors at World Wide Fund India, showcasing her dedication to environmental causes.

Her demise marks a significant loss to the broadcasting industry and the nation as a whole.

Gitanjali Aiyar, a renowned TV presenter, had a diverse educational and professional background. She graduated from Kolkata’s Loreto College, where she completed her undergraduate degree in English.

Additionally, she held a diploma from the prestigious National School of Drama, showcasing her passion for the performing arts.
