On Wednesday, the first Vande Bharat Express was formally launched in Rajasthan by Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video conference.

It is anticipated that the train will travel the Ajmer-Delhi Cantonment route one hour faster than the currently quickest train on that route, as per an official release.

The Ajmer-Delhi Cantonment Vande Bharat Express will create history as the world’s first semi-high-speed passenger train to operate on high-rise overhead electric territory. This cutting-edge train is expected to greatly enhance connectivity to Rajasthan’s prominent tourist destinations, such as Pushkar and Ajmer Dargah, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the region. With its advanced features and efficient travel time, the Vande Bharat Express is set to revolutionize train travel in Rajasthan, opening up new possibilities for tourism, business, and overall connectivity in the region.

TRAIN ROUTE AND TIMINGS

Regular services of the Vande Bharat Express will commence from Thursday between Ajmer and Delhi Cantonment, with scheduled stoppages at Jaipur, Alwar, and Gurugram.The train will operate six days a week and is scheduled to cover the distance between Delhi Cantonment and Ajmer in 5 hours and 15 minutes.

The Vande Bharat Express will depart from Ajmer at 6.20 am and arrive at Delhi by 11.30 am. From Delhi, the train will commence its journey at 6.40 pm and reach Ajmer at 11.55 pm, as per the latest schedule.

TICKET PRICE

Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 20978) will cost Rs 1,250 from Delhi Cantonment to Ajmer, which includes Rs 308 in catering costs for the Chair car class.For Executive Class, the fare will be Rs 2,270, which includes Rs 369 catering charges.

On the other hand, the fare for Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 20977) from Ajmer Jn to Delhi Cantonment will be Rs 1,085, including Rs 142 catering charges for Chair car class. For Executive Class, the fare will be Rs 2,075, which includes Rs 175 catering charges.
