Manipur Riot: Commando killed and five injured in militant gun battle in Manipur

In Tronglaobi Bishnupur district of Manipur, a violent incident occurred on Thursday morning where a few miscreants opened fire at the state police, resulting in the death of one police commando named Hiren and five others getting injured.

The Manipur State Police Commandos had received information about miscreants hiding in a hill area, and when they reached the spot, the attackers opened fire at them.
The casualty cases are yet to be confirmed. The police suspect that militant groups might be involved in the attack.
The Manipur Police has sent reinforcement to the area to catch the attackers. This is the second time that security forces were targeted in Manipur. Earlier, on Wednesday morning, an Assam Rifles jawan was injured when a column of the paramilitary force on area domination was fired upon by armed miscreants in Dolaithabi of Manipur East. The injured personnel was taken to the hospital for treatment while the attackers managed to escape.
