A video showing a man urinating on a tribal laborer in Madhya Pradesh’s Sidhi district has sparked widespread outrage. The victim, a resident of Sidhi and a laborer by profession, became the target of this disturbing act.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has taken note of the viral video and expressed his concern. He has called for the accused to be charged under the stringent National Security Act (NSA).

In a tweet, he stated that he has instructed the administration to apprehend the culprit, take strict action against him, and apply the NSA.

The video has also drawn strong condemnation from opposition leaders in Madhya Pradesh. Former Chief Minister Kamal Nath emphasized that such reprehensible acts have no place in a civilized society and called for an end to atrocities against tribals in the state.

Vikrant Bhuria, the President of Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress and a tribal leader, labeled the incident as “shameful”.

The accused, identified as Pravesh Shukla, has been named in the First Information Report (FIR) filed by the local police in Sidhi. He is facing charges under sections 294 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) as well as under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
