In a suspected case of gang rivalry, Amarpreet Samra, a 28-year-old man originally from Punjab, was fatally shot by unknown assailants outside a wedding venue in Vancouver, Canada.

The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday morning, as Amarpreet, also known as Chucky, was leaving Fraserview Banquet Hall along with other wedding guests. The local news daily, Vancouver Sun, reported the details of the tragic incident.

Amarpreet Samra and his older brother, Ravinder, both gangsters, were invited to a wedding where the tragic incident unfolded. Witnesses at the wedding ceremony recounted to the media that unidentified men entered the hall and abruptly instructed the DJ to stop the music. At the time of the murder, approximately 60 guests were present.

According to the police statement, multiple 911 callers reported a shooting outside a banquet hall in South Vancouver, near Fraser Street and South East Marine Drive, around 1:30 am. Patrol officers immediately administered CPR to the victim until paramedics arrived, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.

Based on preliminary investigations, the police suspect that the brutal murder was a result of inter-gang rivalry. However, the investigation is still ongoing as authorities continue to gather more details and evidence.

In August 2022, Canadian police issued an uncommon advisory regarding 11 gangsters associated with inter-gang violence, cautioning the public to refrain from approaching them. Notably, nine out of the mentioned 11 gangsters were of Indian origin, including Amarpreet and his brother Ravinder.

According to a statement from the British Columbia Police, these individuals were linked to numerous homicides and shootings within the province, underscoring the severity of their criminal activities.
