India has achieved a significant milestone by entering the top-100 of the FIFA rankings after a gap of 5 years. Led by captain Sunil Chhetri, the Indian team climbed up one spot following their impressive performances in the Intercontinental Cup and the SAFF Cup.

Their unbeaten run in the SAFF Cup, including victories against Pakistan, Nepal, and a draw with Kuwait, showcased their strength. In the Intercontinental Cup final, India triumphed over Lebanon with a 2-0 win.

Reacting to the news, head coach Igor Stimac expressed his satisfaction but emphasized the need to maintain their position and improve their playing standards. Chhetri’s exceptional form, netting 5 goals in 3 SAFF Championship matches, adds to India’s confidence as they prepare to face Lebanon in the upcoming semi-final on July 1.

India focuses solely on their upcoming semi-final against Lebanon after putting their past results behind them. Having already faced Lebanon twice in the Intercontinental Cup, including the final, India enters the match with confidence and aims for a flawless performance.

Head coach Igor Stimac acknowledges the need to improve focus and concentration during crucial moments of the game. Despite some areas for refinement, Stimac expresses overall satisfaction with the team’s progress.

Meanwhile, Argentina, led by Lionel Messi, retains the top position in the FIFA rankings, closely followed by France. England and Croatia make gains, while Belgium and the Netherlands slip in the rankings.
