Fiji Shaken by 6.3 Magnitude Earthquake, No Casualties Reported

On Tuesday, the United States Geological Survey reported a seismic event of Magnitude 6.3 that jolted Fiji. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties resulting from the earthquake.

The National Center for Seismology has reported that Fiji, a South Pacific archipelago comprising over 300 islands, experienced a significant earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale on Tuesday, as per news agency ANI.

According to information provided by the NCS (National Center for Seismology), the earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 on the Richter scale struck Fiji on Tuesday at 10:01:43 (UTC+05:30). The earthquake occurred at a depth of 569 km.

The National Center for Seismology (NCS) tweeted that an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 occurred on April 18, 2023, at 10:01:43 IST.

The epicenter was located at -22.42 latitude and 179.26 longitude, with a depth of 569 km. The location of the earthquake was 485 km south of Suva, Fiji. Thankfully, no casualties have been reported so far.

This is the second earthquake within a week, as the United States Geological Survey (USGS) had earlier informed about a 4.3 magnitude earthquake that struck Fiji on Thursday. (ANI)
