Former Deputy Chief Minister Sisodia’s judicial custody in the liquor policy case, which is being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has been extended by two weeks by a Delhi court on Monday. Sisodia was presented in court by the CBI, who requested an extension of his judicial custody, citing that the investigation in the case is at a crucial stage. The court granted the agency’s plea and sent the AAP heavyweight to judicial remand until April 17. Last week, a special CBI court rejected Sisodia’s bail plea in the excise policy scam, stating that he was “prima facie the architect” and played the “important and vital role” in the criminal conspiracy related to the alleged payment of advance kickbacks of around Rs 91-100 crore, intended for him and his colleagues in the Delhi government.
The federal agency said “the investigation is at a crucial stage in the corruption case linked to the “scam”.
