Amer Fort, also known as Amber Fort, is a 16th-century palace located in Amer, a town situated 11 kilometers from Jaipur, the capital city of the Indian state of Rajasthan. The fort was built by Raja Man Singh I, a Kachwaha Rajput ruler, and served as the capital of the Kachwaha Rajputs until Jaipur was established as the new capital in 1727.

Amer Fort is known for its exquisite blend of Hindu and Rajput architectural styles. The fort is made up of red sandstone and marble and is situated on a hill overlooking Maota Lake. The fort complex is comprised of several buildings, including the Diwan-e-Aam (Hall of Public Audience), the Diwan-e-Khas (Hall of Private Audience), the Sheesh Mahal (Palace of Mirrors), and the Sukh Niwas (Hall of Pleasure).

One of the most unique features of Amer Fort is its system of underground tunnels and passages that were used by the royal family to escape in case of emergencies. The fort also has a light and sound show in the evening that showcases the history and culture of the fort and its surrounding areas.

The Amer Fort is now a popular tourist destination and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors can explore the fort on foot or by riding an elephant up to the entrance. The fort is open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
